How to Keep Line Breaks and Spacing on Instagram

You write a nicely spaced caption, post it, and Instagram (or TikTok) squashes the empty lines together. The fix is to put an invisible character on the empty lines so the app doesn’t treat them as empty.

Steps

1. Open the line break generator.
2. Type or paste your caption, pressing Enter where you want new lines and empty lines.
3. Copy Keep line breaks and paste it into Instagram.

Each empty line now contains a blank Braille character (U+2800). It looks empty but counts as text, so it isn’t removed.

Prefer a visible separator?

Some people like a dot, ¶ or § on the empty lines instead. Those options are in the same tool.

Indenting paragraphs

Apps also remove spaces at the start of a line. The Indented paragraphs option adds an invisible character followed by a wide space, so the indent survives.
